September Project of the Month
This 1989 Kitchen contained two closet type pantries. One was being used for food, and the other for extra glassware, cookware, and anything else that didn’t fit in the cabinetry. By maintaining one closet pantry for food, and eliminating the other one, it provided a space for a wall oven to be mounted at the optimum back saving height. When using large banks for drawers, dishes, cookware, all the necessary utensils are stored in an organized fashion. Other features inside the cabinetry are dual trash, tray divider/ cutting board storage, and liquor storage.
The original raised bar top was reduced to Kitchen counter height to tie together the adjoining family room. It also provided a place for informal meals with comfortable 24” high barstools.
The soffits were removed to increase the height of the wall cabinets, which not only adds to the store of the kitchen but the aesthetics of the extremely high ceilings throughout the home. This 1989 home has been brought into the next millennium.
